Canada Safety Council (CSC) and Canadian AQCC Safety Institute (CASI) Kids/Youth ATV Safety Courses
CSC and CASI provide modified versions of their adult ATV Rider Courses for children 6 to 11 years of age and for youth 12 to 16 years of age.
A parent, guardian or other responsible adult must attend the ATV Rider Course with children between the ages of 6 and 11 and class sizes are limited to 4 students per course.
A parent, guardian or other responsible adult should attend and observe the ATV Rider Course with youth between the ages of 12 and 16 and may take the course with their child, each riding their own ATV. Class size limits are 6 students per course.
The course includes safe riding practices, learning the controls, starting and stopping, braking, turning, riding over obstacles that can't be avoided and riding up and down hills as well as plenty of seat time to practice each skill.
